Each of the 25 McArthurGlen Centre team manages the offers that are available to customers on any given period by showing them on their Centre Website in multi language. For events such as Black Friday and Friends & Family this can involve months of planning and liaising with their Centre Brands.

Launched in two phases the new platform allows each Centre team to manage hundreds of offers in multi language. The platform provides Centres with a much faster way of uploading and managing their daily and Event offers

The challenge

All 25 Centre Teams currently manage Centre Offers on their website through the Optimizely CMS. This can be a time consuming exercise, particularly for the big events such as Black Friday and Friends & Family, especially given each offer has to be uploaded in the languages supported by each Centre.

As well as this the launch of Club has initially meant that DAM have been managing the Club Offers, passes and Events for each Centre through the Optimizely platform, co-ordinating with each Centre on a daily basis to plan upcoming events.

The solution

In 2022 it was decided to develop a separate bespoke Offers Engine that would allow the Centres to quickly and simply manage all Offers in multi-language either individually or batched. This Engine is tightly integrated with the Optimizely platform that powers all of the Centre Websites as well as the Native and Web Loyalty Club App. The first phase will allow the Centres to begin using this Engine in late July to manage Centre Offers. The next Phase in September will allow them to add Brand Offers as well in time for Black Friday.

This has been an enormously complex development, involving Senior Stakeholders throughout the business as well as gathering requirements from the staff who actually do the day to day work. As the Product Owner I have formed a strong relationship with all of the DAM team. We work together on a daily basis to make sure the project is on track and manage the changing requirements that are fed in from the business. They are a pleasure to work with and the success of this project has been a real team effort
